About Liz
As a 24 year veteran ocean lifeguard, Liz has seen firsthand how essential swimming is to this unique beach community.
​
She is a certified teacher with over two decades of experience as a swim instructor and a former college-level swimmer. She knows how to meet the unique needs of each swimmer regardless of age, ability, and learning preference. With a Master's Degree in Special Education, Liz specializes in working with individuals with special needs.
​
Liz is a strong advocate of the Montessori philosophy, multi-sensory learning, and Play-Based practices. The Hamptons Swim curriculum incorporates her almost two decades of teaching experience. She teaches all instructors how to customize lessons based on the developmental and unique individual needs of your child. ​
​
From the basics to overcoming fears or perfecting your stroke, she will assist in making swimming safe and enjoyable. Above all, she is passionate about swimming and loves teaching.

About Leila
Leila is a certified Water Safety Instructor and Open Water Scuba Diver. She is a veteran Southampton Ocean Lifeguard and has over 13 years of swimming experience. With an educational background in Marketing and Data Analytics, Leila has helped grow Hamptons Swim not only physically but digitally as well.
Coached through Liz Parry’s play-based methods, she is trained to provide unique, fun, and customized lessons to swimmers of all ages. Leila is the Director of Marketing and is joining us for her third year as a Private Instructor.
Through technical study and mentorship under Hamptons Swim, Leila is an experienced swimmer eager to share her love of aquatics.

About Kathleen
Kathleen joins Hamptons Swim this season with more than 9 years of swimming and lifeguarding experience. She is a Red Cross certified Lifeguard with Waterfront Extension, as well as a Certified Water Safety Instructor. Growing up in Riverhead, her love of the ocean led her to teach swim lessons during the summers for the past 9 years. Previously, she was the Head Lifeguard at a camp on Bear Mountain.

Coached through Liz Parry’s play-based methods, she is trained to provide unique, fun, and customized lessons to swimmers of all ages. Hamptons Swim is excited to have Kathleen join us for her second year as a Private Instructor.

About Alessandra
Alessandra is a teacher in Southampton and is currently working towards her Master's Degree in Education, grades 1-6 with a concentration in special education. Alessandra was originally a business major but changed her career path to fulfill her true passion for teaching and helping students grow and prosper. She grew up working at the Southampton Youth Association as a head camp counselor for 10 years, where she led and managed a group of 20-30 campers.

Coached through Liz Parry’s play-based methods, she is trained to provide unique, fun, and customized lessons to swimmers of all ages. Hamptons Swim is excited to welcome Alessandra back to the team as a Private Instructor.

About Max
Max is an experienced swim instructor with over 15 years teaching in pool. Max teaches swim lessons full time up island and is excited to come down to the Hamptons to teach this summer. Whether it's in the pool or ocean, he loves being in the water. Working with clients of all ages and children with special needs, Max is the perfect instructor for any students.

About Kelli
Kelli is an experienced swimmer, water polo player, instructor and coach. Kelli has over 31 years experience teaching swimming and water polo to all age groups. In addition, she has extensive experience in high school education as a teacher and counselor. Kelli has a background in club, high school, collegiate, and open water swimming. She competed on the United States National Women’s Water Polo Team for 9 years and was recently inducted into the United States Water Polo Hall of Fame.
She is excited to share her love of aquatic sports with her students of all ages.

About Liz S.
Liz S. is an experienced Lifeguard, Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor and Ocean Lifeguard Instructor (approved by NYSDOH). Liz S. also pursued certifications as an ISA Surf Instructor and Swiftwater & Ice Rescue responder.
Liz grew up spending summers swimming in Westhampton Beach, later lifeguarding in Maine. Liz spent a gap year in Aspen as a Ski instructor, before coming back East and spending 20 years in finance. Liz moved her family back to the beach 13 years ago from Manhattan to pursue aquatic adventures. Liz S. feels we have an obligation to keep our beaches and pools safe, for everyone all the time. Liz chooses to train and certify lifeguards so that there would be more access to such training. We're thrilled to have Liz S. apart of the Hamptons Swim team!

About Jen
Jen is a mother of three young children, an experienced outdoor educator, and as a Sag Harbor native she has a lifelong love of aquatics. She was previously a Southampton Town Ocean Rescue Lifeguard and previously taught junior lifeguarding classes as well as children's swim classes. She has a lifetime of experiences swimming, paddle boarding, sailing, and enjoying our local waters as well as decades of experience working with children from 18 months - 18 years of age, teaching environmental education and nature-play classes. She holds an MEM in marine and coastal science and policy and is a certified open water scuba diver. She is passionate about fostering a love of the outdoors in children and instilling a comfort with being in the water is a key part of that when living on an island.

About Ben
Ben grew up in East Hampton and has been a Still Water and Ocean Lifeguard and Swim Instructor for over 15 years. Ben has been an Ocean lifeguard for East Hampton and Southampton Town and has run the junior lifeguard program as an instructor.
With Ben's many years as an instructor he is also a member of the Southampton Volunteer Ocean Rescue. Continuing his love for health and wellness Ben became a Physical Education / Health teacher & varsity coach. In Ben's free time he also has been a professional and nationally sponsored triathlete.

About Megan
Megan is a teacher in Manorville and is currently working towards her Master's Degree in TESOL. Megan is a Special Educator and currently teaches Kindergarten and First Grade Students. Megan loves to work with people and help others, which is what drove her to work in a career that works with children. Megan has always worked with children through volunteering and running her Church’s VBS programs as well as volunteering as a Youth Leader for 8 years.

Megan has always loved the outdoors and the water. She spends her summers swimming in the ocean, paddle boarding and simply sitting on the beach. As an educator, Megan loves to work with children and is excited to use that passion to teach children how to love the water as well!

About Marie
Marie is beyond excited to join the Hamptons Swim Team! Growing up coming out to Water Mill in the summer, she learned to swim before she walked, and enjoyed playing mermaids with her swim team. Over the years, she’s turned that childhood passion into a dynamic life around pools and oceans. She’s played water polo, worked as a pool lifeguard, and now brings her deep love for swimming to teaching others.
With a Bachelor’s degree in New Media and Digital Design from Fordham University, Marie blends creativity with a hands-on approach to coaching. Whether it's refining a stroke or diving for fun, Marie’s all about making swimming a joy for everyone.
She’s here to share her enthusiasm, keep things fun and safe, and help each swimmer fall in love with the water just like she did.

About Erica
Erica is a mother of three, holds a doctorate in Physical Therapy, who returned to lifeguarding and teaching swimming lessons 2 1/2 years ago and has over six years experience teaching all age groups and individuals including those with special needs. Erica swam competitively from age 8 to 17, was captain of the varsity high school swim team and today swims year around and enjoys swimming open water in the Long Island Sound. Erica was a relay swimmer and finisher in the 70.3 Ironmman Jones Beach.
Erica's experience includes teaching American Red Cross swim classes/levels, Parent and Child Aquatics, Preschool Aquatics, Learn -to-Swim, Adult Swim, Early Childhood, and special needs classes.

About Caroline
Caroline is a certified Water Safety Instructor and Ocean Lifeguard. She is a five year Southampton Village Ocean Lifeguard and has over ten years of competitive swim experience. Growing up in Hampton Bays, her love of the water and swimming experience led her to teach swim lessons during the past five summers. She also has a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Information Management and Technology from Syracuse University.

About Joanna
Joanna is a lifelong competitive swimmer ending her career in the pool with four years of Division I swimming at Boston University. For the last two years she has helped coach the BU swim and dive team working with athletes ages 17-23. Over her career she has worked with swimmers of all ages and levels starting out from beginner to a competitive level. She has a true love of the sport and wants to share what she has learned with others. In the fall, Joanna will be starting medical school!

About Laurie
Laurie is a certified Water Safety Instructor known for her way of engaging students with encouraging support, clear strategies, and humor. She has a decade of lifeguarding and swim instruction experience in open water and pool settings. Laurie has a background in education, Division I collegiate athletics, coaching, and performing arts. She has a BA in English and Education and an MA from Columbia University grounded in equity based literacy. In addition to teaching and coaching in Italy, Virginia, California, and New York, Laurie has supported schools across the country and internationally.
Laurie's heart work includes helping people of all ages feel heard, loved, and empowered to enjoy all that water has to offer. Grounded in Liz Parry's play-based instructional program, she provides supportive, and personally meaningful lessons to swimmers across age groups.
